Bournemouth lineup vs. Man City: Predicted XI for opening 2026-27 Premier League fixture

Silva debut, up to seven absentees: Predicted Bournemouth lineup vs. Man City

Bournemouth could be without seven players for their opening match of the 2026-27 Premier League season away against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

While Ryan Christie is serving a suspension carried over from last season, Eli Junior Kroupi (foot), Amine Adli (calf), Veljko Milosavljevic (knee), Julian Araujo (thigh), David Brooks and Julio Soler (both unspecified) are all on the treatment table.

New head coach Marco Rose has confirmed that new signings Juanlu Sanchez and Alvaro Rodriguez, as well as Tyler Adams, have all returned to team training, but some of them “need a little bit more load in training to be an option” for this weekend.

One new arrival who is ready to make his debut is centre-back Antonio Silva, who is expected to partner James Hill in the heart of the defence, in between full-backs Adam Smith and Adrien Truffert.

Bournemouth have managed to hold on to in-demand Alex Scott so far this summer and he is set to link up with Lewis Cook in centre-midfield, while Rayan, Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier all operate in advanced positions in the final third.

Evanilson scored just six goals in 38 games for the Cherries last season, but the Brazilian has netted twice in five appearances against Man City and is expected to lead the line at the Etihad.

Bournemouth possible starting lineup:

Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Cook, Scott; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evalinson
