Eddie Howe hails "professional" Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe praises his side for putting in a "professional performance" during Tuesday's 2-0 win away to Sheffield Wednesday.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has hailed his team for their "professional performance" during Tuesday's win over Sheffield Wednesday.

The Cherries moved to the top of the Championship table last night as two second-half goals saw them come away from Hillsborough with a 2-0 victory.

While insisting that his players should enjoy being at the summit of the standings, Howe is eager for them to maintain their focus.

"It was another good, professional performance and a big three points," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport. "You need goals to stamp your authority and I back this team to score goals. We want to enjoy being top of the table but we've got to look to maintain our position.

"I don't think we were at our best in the final third in the first half. We needed an extra pass before shooting and thankfully we got that in the second half with two goals of real quality."

Bournemouth continue their bid for promotion on Saturday when they make the trip to second-placed Middlesbrough.
