Eddie Howe: Sylvain Distin is the "ultimate professional"

Manager Eddie Howe hails Sylvain Distin's professsionalism after Bournemouth's 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has praised Sylvain Distin's professionalism after their 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday.

The 37-year-old Distin was a free transfer from Everton in the summer, and Howe has hailed the French centre-back's conditioning after the victory over the Black Cats.

Howe told BBC Sport: "Sylvain Distin was excellent today, he has had to be patient for his chance and put in a superb performance.

"Looking at him play, you wouldn't think he was 37 years old. He is the ultimate professional."

The Cherries are currently in 11th spot in the Premier League table.
