Eddie Howe: 'Bournemouth not good enough against Norwich City'

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe admits that his team were not good enough during their 2-1 Championship defeat at home to Norwich.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that his side played below their usual standards during Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Norwich City.

The Cherries were beaten for just the fifth time this season as a late goal from Cameron Jerome saw new Norwich manager Alex Neil get off to a winning start.

"My team did not show enough," Howe told BBC Sport. "The quality of Norwich stopped us being able to build up any pressure and we lacked the control we normally have.

"This highlights how hard it is in this league. No matter how good you think you are, there are quality teams out there who can beat you.

"Norwich moved the ball better in the first half. Our best period was in the second half just before the sending off and we did not make enough of the chances we had during that time."

Bournemouth remain top of the Championship table, but they are now ahead of second-placed Derby County only on goal difference.
