Harry Arter issues thanks to Bournemouth

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter thanks fans, teammates and his family for their help following the death of his daughter in midweek.

Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter has issued thanks to his family and colleagues for their support following the death of his daughter earlier this week.

Arter played a key role in his side's 2-1 win over Manchester United on Saturday just days after he and his partner lost their child at birth.

The 25-year-old was given a standing ovation when he was taken off late in the match, and he has taken the opportunity to reveal his gratitude.

"I just felt coming in and trying to take my mind off things would make it a bit easier. My family would want me to play," Arter told the club website.

"The support of everyone at the club is why I felt like I wanted to play as well.

"They have been unbelievable for me this week and made things a tad easier. I am sure my partner at home will be really proud too. It's a game that we can look back on with a lot of pride."

Eddie Howe paid tribute to Arter for his display while reflecting on his side's victory.
