Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe looking to lay down marker against Norwich City

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is hopeful that his side can put down an early marker in their season by earning a positive result from their clash against Norwich City.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that he is eager to see how much his side have improved since last season when they face off against Norwich City.

The Cherries lost to the Canaries in their last meeting at Dean Court last term when both sides were in the Championship, but Howe is hopeful that his team can edge their first Premier League contest to record the club's second top-flight win of the campaign.

"Obviously we'll know about them from last year, but they'll also know about us. So any advantage from that is cancelled out really," Howe told reporters.

"We are two teams that were in the same league last year and fought a really good battle to get out of it, so I am sure it'll be a tough match.

"From our perspective, it will give us a good marker of how much we have improved over the summer."

Bournemouth face Norwich at Carrow Road later today.
