Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe 'in the frame for Everton job'

Eddie Howe 'in the frame for Everton job'

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has allegedly emerged as a candidate for the vacant Everton job.

Former Watford head coach Marco Silva has been tipped as the favourite for the position but, according to BBC Sport, the Toffees hierarchy have earmarked the Englishman as a potential alternative.

Everton are said to have lined up Howe as a back-up option as appointing Silva may prove problematic, given that Watford have lodged a complaint with the Premier League, claiming that the Blues illegally approached their former boss last year.

The Merseyside outfit are seeking a new manager after sacking Sam Allardyce earlier today.

Paulo Fonseca, Louis van Gaal and Arsene Wenger were previously linked with replacing Allardyce at Goodison Park.
