Robert Lewandowski hails vital three points against Mainz

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski hails his side's spirit as they overcame Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has hailed his side's spirit as they overcame Mainz 05 3-1 in the Bundesliga last weekend.

Dortmund were looking to bounce back following their home defeat to champions Bayern Munich and managed to do so through goals from Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

"These three points are very important for us. We came through a difficult game and showed we're a good team who can also adapt and deal with injury problems," the Poland striker said after the game.

"We weren't at our best and we had a few problems. Mainz really got stuck in and made life difficult for us. After the break we changed things around a bit and it all improved."

Dortmund are third in the Bundesliga table having played 14 games so far this season.
