Ottmar Hitzfeld: 'Borussia Dortmund will recover from poor form'

Former manager Ottmar Hitzfeld claims that Jurgen Klopp will turn struggling Borussia Dortmund into title challengers in the Bundesliga again.

Ottmar Hitzfeld has claimed that Jurgen Klopp will lead Borussia Dortmund back from their disappointments to once again become Bayern Munich's biggest challengers in the Bundesliga.

Nine defeats in 16 league games has seen Dortmund slip towards the bottom of the table this season, but Hitzfeld is confident that their form is not a sign of things to come over the next few seasons.

"Klopp's still young, he will get through this current low," the former Dortmund and Bayern manager told Kolner Express.

"They'll recover by staying calm and taking responsibility. The most important thing is the players are true to Klopp. Starring for them is a ticket to the international teams. Dortmund remain the most threatening opponent to Bayern in coming years."

Bayern have flourished during Dortmund's struggles, with Pep Guardiola's side making it to the winter break without suffering a defeat.
