Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 'Red card changed game'

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang admits that Roman Weidenfeller's red card gave Borussia Dortmund an uphill task against Napoli.

Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has admitted that Roman Weidenfeller's red card at the end of the first half was the turning point in his side's 2-1 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League.

Despite Dortmund already being 1-0 down when Weidenfeller handled outside the box, Napoli took control after the incident to score a second through Lorenzo Insigne.

"The red card hurt us, especially since we'd started the game well, but these things happen," UEFA.com quotes Aubameyang as saying. "The positive thing is we responded well in the second half.

"We scored and we created other chances. It's not easy to respond the way we did when you are up against a side like Napoli so we still take plenty of positives out of this game, and now we move onto the next one, which we'll try to win."

Dortmund are at home to Marseille in the next round of games in two weeks' time.
