Jose Riga has insisted that he "won't be rushing" to make any signings after taking over at Blackpool.
The Belgian was confirmed as the club's new boss earlier this week, inheriting a squad which currently has just six senior players contracted for the 2014-15 season.
The former Charlton Athletic coach told The Gazette: "Recruitment is a process we won't be rushing. We want to do things properly and step-by-step to make sure we don't make mistakes.
"I know we have a shortage of players. We can't play with a squad of six, but we have a strategy. We'll be working straight away to address this."
Blackpool finished the season 20th in the Championship table last season, narrowly avoiding relegation.
