Jose Riga: 'Blackpool were over-confident'

Blackpool manager Jose Riga believes that his players had the "wrong mindset" ahead of their Championship defeat to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Jose Riga has accused his player of being "over-confident" ahead of their defeat to Huddersfield Town in the Championship yesterday.

The Terriers were 3-0 up inside 16 minutes and went on to beat the Seasiders 4-2 to leave them rooted to the bottom of the table.

Riga has admitted that the result may be down to the poor pre-match mindset of his squad.

He told the Blackpool Gazette: "Sometimes you get into the wrong mindset and are over-confident.

"People were surprised in the week when I said this would be our most difficult game after the win. Sometimes it happens that you think in your mind it is done, but in the Championship it is never done."

Blackpool have picked up just six points from their first 12 matches in the Championship this season.
