Matt Phillips ruled out for Blackpool

Blackpool winger Matt Phillips could be sidelined until after Christmas with a toe injury.

The 21-year-old, who has scored two goals this season, has been suffering with the problem for a fortnight, according to manager Michael Appleton.

"Matt Phillips has got a slight tear to a joint in his big toe," he said. "That's been a problem for a couple of weeks and that is a big, big disappointment for us."

The Seasiders travel to bottom-placed Bristol City in the Championship on Saturday.
