Chris Basham: 'A draw was a fair result'

Blackpool midfielder Chris Basham says that he is happy with his side's 2-2 draw with Leicester City.

Blackpool midfielder Chris Basham has declared that his side's 2-2 draw with Leicester City in the Championship was a fair result.

However, the 25-year-old admits that he would not have taken a point in the first half after his goal separated the teams at the break.

"In the first half I don't think we would have accepted a draw, but as the second half wore on I thought it was a fair result. A 2-2 with Leicester City we'll take because it keeps our home form going," he told the club's official website.

Basham was asked to play on the left wing due to the withdrawal of Neal Bishop ahead of the game, but he said that he does not mind operating as a utility man.

"I think that was my sixth position this season in my seventh or eighth game. I think Bish was meant to play there but he fell ill before the game," he added.

"If I'm playing, scoring and doing well then there's nothing else I can ask for. I am the utility man but I don't mind playing there."

It took a stoppage-time penalty from Thomas Ince to rescue a point for Blackpool after Leicester carved out a 2-1 lead after the break.
