Junior Hoilett close to signing Blackburn Rovers contract extension

Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has revealed that Junior Hoilett is close to signing a new contract at Ewood Park.

The Canadian forward's current deal runs out at the end of next season.

"We've virtually agreed a very long-term deal," Kean told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I imagine I'll be on a plane to Toronto over the weekend and we'll get that done and dusted."

The 21-year-old joined Rovers as an academy player in 2003 before signing a senior contract in 2007.
