Bolton Wanderers come back to edge out Blackburn Rovers

Goals from Darren Pratley and Emile Heskey give Bolton Wanderers a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Bolton Wanderers came from behind to beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at home in the Championship this afternoon.

Goals from Darren Pratley and Emile Heskey turned it around for the Trotters, who had earlier trailed to Joshua King's opener.

Shane Duffy spurned a decent chance for Blackburn when he headed over the bar from Ryan Tunnicliffe's delivery.

Eidur Gudjohnsen was making his first appearance since signing earlier this month, and the Icelandic striker went close before the half-hour mark when he fired over the bar from Liam Feeney's cross.

Jordan Rhodes responded for Rovers but the Scot's effort also went over the bar after a good ball from Ben Marshall in the build-up.

King gave Rovers the lead shortly before half time when he got in behind the Bolton defence before rounding the goalkeeper and calmly converting for his first strike since March.

Heskey was introduced a second-half substitute for his first appearance since signing a short-term deal and the former England striker made his mark shortly before the hour mark.

Gudjohnsen played a ball across the face of the goal and Heskey slid in to convert on 59 minutes for his first goal in English football since 2011.

The Trotters then took the lead two minutes later when Pratley steered the ball home after a good knock-down from Heskey inside the area.
