Alan Shearer linked with Blackburn Rovers job

Former striker Alan Shearer has been linked with the Blackburn Rovers job.

Under-fire boss Steve Kean's future is in serious doubt after a number of protests by fans over his continued tenure.

Shearer is thought to be interested in the position at Ewood Park, according to the Daily Mail.

The 41-year-old won the Premier League title with the club as a player in the mid-'90s.

However, his one experience in management ended with his hometown club Newcastle United being relegated from the top flight in 2009.

Rovers face a crucial league fixture on Tuesday night when they host fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers.
