Mexican club Monterrey have announced the signing of Spanish midfielder Sergio Canales from Real Betis.
The 32-year-old has penned a three-year contract until June 2026 and the former Racing Santander, Real Madrid, Valencia and Real Sociedad man ends his 15-year association in the top flight of Spanish football.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that Betis will receive an initial €10m from Monterrey plus €7m in add-ons for the experienced playmaker, who recorded 39 goals and 30 assists in 207 appearances for Los Verdiblancos over a five-year period.
