Real Betis, Lyon play out goalless draw

Real Betis and Lyon both fail to make a breakthrough in tonight's Europa League clash.

Real Betis and Lyon played out a goalless draw in tonight's Europa League Group I match.

The home side created the first chance of the game when Cedric Mabwati's cross found Chuli but the striker could only put his effort over the bar.

In the final minutes of the half Cedric had an opportunity to put Betis into the lead but after being played in by Chuli, he was denied by the feet of goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.

Nosa Igiebor came close for the hosts in the 70th minute but his strike brushed the outside of the post.

Betis felt they should have had a penalty when Chuli went down inside the box but it was not given by the referee.

Cedric forced Lopes into a save late on but neither side was able to make the breakthrough and the game finished goalless.
