Jan Kirchhoff to join Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have confirmed a deal that will see them sign Mainz 05 defender Jan Kirchhoff at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old will join the record German champions on a three-year deal in the summer, once his current contract has expired.

"We are really pleased that such a highly-talented Under-21 international has decided to join Bayern," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Bild.

Kirchhoff has made 51 Bundesliga appearances for Mainz since arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2007.
