Mario Gomez signs new Bayern Munich deal

Mario Gomez has committed his future to Bayern Munich by signing a new contract with the German club.

The 26-year-old has been in good form this season, scoring 37 times from 42 outings.

Speaking to the club's official website, Gomez insisted that he never had any intention of leaving the Allianz Arena.

"I have always said that FC Bayern are a fantastic club and I am happy here," said the striker. "I see the best sporting prospects here and so I am delighted that the new contract has now been signed.

"I am convinced that we are going to achieve a lot in the coming years and I want to make my contribution."

Gomez has agreed a deal until 2016.
