Kai Havertz 'open to Bayer Leverkusen exit'

Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz has opened the door to a move away from the club.

The 20-year-old, who has been on the radar of many of Europe's top clubs for a few years, shot to prominence last year for the German side, scoring 17 goals in 34 appearances.

Havertz, now a regular in Joachim Low's international squads, has two in nine this season and he has indicated that he has now accumulated enough experience at Die Werkself to make a move abroad.

Speaking to Marca, the youngster said: "I think I've picked up enough international experience at Leverkusen.

"I know the rhythm of these international matches and I'm confident that I can go abroad at any moment and play at clubs outside of Germany.

"For the moment, I want to have a good season. Afterwards, we'll see."

Havertz's comments will come as welcome news to Manchester United, who were recently rumoured to be planning an £80m bid for his services, with Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus also reportedly tracking his progress.
