Andre Schurrle is among the scorers as Bayer Leverkusen pick up their first away win of the season with a 3-1 victory at Augsburg.

Bayer Leverkusen picked up their first away points of the Bundesliga season with a comfortable 3-1 win at Augsburg tonight.

The 2002 Champions League finalists have collected four points from as many games so far this campaign, having suffered two defeats on their travels.

Stefan Kiessling headed them into a seventh-minute lead from close range, just moments after Gonzalo Castro struck the crossbar for the visitors.

Leverkusen were dealt an injury blow when Stefan Reinartz was forced off following a foul from Ragnar Klavan, but Bayer made the best of the situation by netting from the resultant free kick.

Central defender Philipp Wollscheid was the man who got the final touch after Omer Toprak won the initial flick on.

Reported Chelsea target Andre Schurrle gave Leverkusen a three-goal cushion shortly before the break when he struck powerfully into the bottom corner.

Augsburg threatened a second-half comeback when Tobias Werner converted from a tight angle on 51 minutes following Daniel Baier's fine pass.

However, that proved to be the end of the scoring action as Bayer saw out the remainder of the match under no real pressure from the hosts.
