Josip Drmic heaps praise on "battling" Bayer Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen forward Josip Drmic heaps praise on his teammates following the club's 4-0 thrashing of lowly Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Josip Drmic has highlighted the team's battling qualities following their 4-0 victory over strugglers Stuttgart.

The Switzerland striker bagged a brace in Friday's contest at the BayArena to send his side to third in the Bundesliga table, leaving Huub Stevens and his men rooted to the bottom of the league.

"Three points and four goals – you can't wish for a better weekend," said Drmic, according to the Bundesliga's official website.

"It was quite hard work, but it's great that we've come away with victory. We always want to give it our all. We struggled in the first half an hour, but we battled through and were able to pick up another positive result.

"Things are getting better and better for me, I'm getting more confidence with every match and I want to keep this run going.

Drmic has scored 23 league goals in 52 appearances for Leverkusen.
