Victor Valdes praises Eric Abidal

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has praised Eric Abidal after the Frenchman played his final game for the club against Malaga on Sunday.

Abidal, who has battled ill-health over the past 18 months, will seek pastures new when his contract expires at the end of this month.

"Today not only a great example but a brother is leaving us," Valdes wrote on his official Facebook page.

"Thanks, Abi! And thank you all for your support. See you next year to continue doing great together, Barca. Hugs."

Valdes is also expected to depart the Catalan outfit this summer.
