David Luiz: 'Barcelona wanted me'

David Luiz has claimed that Barcelona wanted to sign him before he swapped Chelsea for Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Brazilian completed a big-money transfer to France this summer despite long being linked with a move to the Camp Nou.

"It's true they tried to tempt me a couple of times and everything looked good. But eventually I realised the team that really wanted to buy me was PSG," Luiz told AS.

Luiz is expected to line up against Barcelona when PSG welcome the Spanish side to the French capital in the Champions League this evening.
