Cuenca wants Ajax stay

Barcelona winger Isaac Cuenca has revealed that he would be interested in remaining at Ajax next season.

The 22-year-old, who joined the Dutch outfit on loan at the beginning of the season, has made just five appearances for the club due to a succession of knee injuries.

However, the highly-rated Spaniard has claimed that he wants to spend another year on loan in Holland.

"I want to stay another year at Ajax. Barcelona know what I want and the clubs are talking about it because relationships are good, I hope that I stay," he told De Telegraaf.

"Because of my injury I can not play much, but next season I want to be important. I have had fun with Ajax, feel comfortable and their style of play resembles that of Barca. I think it's good for my development - it is a year to train under Frank de Boer and play."

Ajax currently top the Eredivisie by four points.
