Barcelona: 'We do not contemplate losing Neymar'

Barcelona are not contemplating the sale or loss of talismanic forward Neymar, according to Blaugrana financial vice-president Susana Monje.

A senior Barcelona figure has claimed that the club are not contemplating selling or otherwise losing forward Neymar.

The 24-year-old's deal with the La Liga champions expires in June 2018 and the club are reportedly in talks to extend it, the uncertainty of the process unsettling fans.

Blaugrana financial vice-president Susana Monje told a news conference: "Neymar's [contract] renewal is a sporting matter.

"Economically, you have already known the margins for a while. We have not studied the impact of a hypothetical loss of Neymar. We do not contemplate it."

Paris Saint-Germain, one of several clubs rumoured to be interested in Neymar, are reportedly ready to double his salary.
