Barcelona defender Eric Abidal moves to end speculation about his future by insisting that he wants to end his career with the club.

Eric Abidal has revealed that he is keen to extend his contract with Spanish and European champions Barcelona.

The French international's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and it had been suggested that he could leave the Nou Camp on a free transfer.

However, the 32-year-old has moved to end that speculation by insisting that he wants to end his career with the Catalan club.

"The club wants to extend my deal and I want to continue my adventure with Barcelona," Abidal told Telefoot.

"Like I have always said before, I want to end my career at Barcelona.

"Things are complicated, but it's clear we will reach a solution. I think we can all reach an agreement."

Abidal joined Barca in 2007 from French club Lyon.
