Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Las Palmas

Barcelona injury, suspension list vs. Las Palmas

Barcelona will be aiming to stretch their unbeaten run in all competitions to 11 matches when they resume their La Liga campaign at home to Las Palmas on Saturday night.

The Catalan outfit recorded a 3-0 victory over Atletico Madrid before the international break, which made it three straight wins in all competitions for the in-form outfit.

Xavi's side, who will face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of the Champions League next month, are currently second in the La Liga table, eight points behind the leaders Real Madrid.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Las Palmas, who occupy 11th position in Spain's top flight.

Frenkie de Jong

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

De Jong sustained a lateral ligament sprain in his right ankle in the clash with Athletic Bilbao on March 3, and the Netherlands international is not expected to be back until the end of April.

Pedri

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Pedri suffered another hamstring issue against Athletic at the start of the month, but the midfielder is expected to be back on the field at some stage in April.

Gavi

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi sustained an ACL injury while representing Spain towards the end of last year, and the midfielder will not be available for selection until the 2024-25 campaign.

Alejandro Balde

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Balde underwent a hamstring operation at the end of January, and the Spain international will also be unavailable for selection until the 2024-25 campaign.

Ferran Torres

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Las Palmas)

Torres was again absent against Atletico due to a thigh problem, which also saw him miss out on the Spain squad, but there is a chance that the attacker could be in the squad against Las Palmas.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Achilles Possible return date: March 30 (vs. Las Palmas)

Christensen pulled out of the Denmark squad due to an Achilles problem, but he is expected to be available for Barcelona's contest with Las Palmas this weekend.
