Barcelona attacker Roony Bardghji is confident that he will be registered in time to be involved in his team's first match after the international break against Valencia.
The summer arrival has not yet been registered by the Catalan giants, so he has missed their opening three matches of the new La Liga campaign against Mallorca, Levante and Rayo Vallecano.
There have been claims that the 19-year-old could represent Barcelona's second team this season if the issue is not addressed in the near future.
However, Bardghji has said that playing for Barcelona B has never been on his radar, having made 84 first-team appearances during his time at Copenhagen, scoring 15 times and registering one assist.
The Sweden Under-21s international is expecting his registration to be secured before the La Liga game against Valencia on September 14, putting him in line to make his debut in that contest.
Bardghji could make Barcelona debut against Valencia
“I never came to Barca to play with the reserve team, that possibility never existed," Bardghji told reporters.
"It was something invented by the media. From day one, both the club and I were clear that I’d be part of the first team. I’ve already played over 100 games at first-team level, so I was never going to join a reserve side.
"Everything is ready [about my registration]. I think I will be able to play vs Valencia."
A number of clubs were credited with an interest in Bardghji over the summer, with Manchester United said to be long-term admirers of the teenager, but it was Barcelona that won the race for his signature.
The teenager is currently able to turn out for Barcelona in the Champions League, even without his La Liga registration, so he could be involved in the European clash with Newcastle United on September 18.
Bardghji has major competition for spots at Barcelona
The competition for spots in the Barcelona attack is incredible, with Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Marcus Rashford and Dani Olmo also battling for starts.
Fermin Lopez and Gavi are also options to feature as number 10s, so it will be incredibly difficult for Bardghji to secure regular action this season.
Bardghji mainly operates off the right, but he is also capable of featuring in a central area, and the Copa del Rey will represent his best chance of securing action this term, while opportunities could also be available in the Champions League depending on how the club's European season progresses.
