Mujica: 'Suarez needs psychiatric help'

Uruguayan president Jose Mujica has said that Luis Suarez needs psychiatric help.

Suarez is currently serving a worldwide ban after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup this summer.

The president of the South American nation was extremely critical of FIFA after the incident, and he has added further thoughts about football's governing body, saying it was not the best way to deal with it.

He is quoted as saying by Folha de Sao Paulo: "He comes from a poor background and his main intelligence is in his feet. He's brilliant with his feet. His problem isn't one that you resolve with a ban like this. It's better to take him to hospital and once there, see a psychiatrist."

Suarez recently completed a £75m move from Liverpool to Barcelona.
