Lionel Messi: 'Media create Cristiano Ronaldo feud'

Lionel Messi has blamed the media for his supposed feud with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The duo are widely considered to be the best two players in the world, although many pundits feel that Barcelona's Messi is the greater of the pair.

As a result, it has been claimed that the Argentine has a rivalry with the Real Madrid attacker.

However, Messi has insisted that no such animosity exists.

"It's only the media, the press, who wants us to be at loggerheads but I've never fought with Cristiano," Messi told newspaper Ole.

Messi is current holder of the FIFA Ballon d'Or award.
