Cesc Fabregas pays Tito Vilanova tribute

Cesc Fabregas pays tribute to ex-Barcelona boss Tito Villanova, who died on Friday aged 45.

Cesc Fabregas has penned an emotional tribute to ex-Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova, who died on Friday aged 45.

Vilanova passed away following a lengthy battle with throat cancer, prompting the football world to react with tributes for the coach.

Fabregas, who played under the father-of-two at Camp Nou last season, took to Facebook to express his gratitude for how the former Blaugrana coach helped him manage issues on and off the field.

"Personally, I met you 14 years ago and I can say that people like you there are very few," he wrote. "Thank you for always trusting me to help me improve and overcome personal and professional obstacles.

"All my condolences to Montse, Kelly and Adrian, and the rest of his family and friends.

"Always keep a place for you in our hearts. Rest in peace Tito."

Barcelona have since announced that the funeral will take place on Monday at 7pm.
