Luis Enrique: 'Luis Suarez is not fat'

Luis Suarez will be fit to make his Barcelona debut against Real Madrid, despite fears he might not be fit.

Barcelona boss Luis Enrique has insisted that Luis Suarez is not out of shape ahead of the Uruguayan striker's return to competitive action.

Suarez is in line to make his Barcelona debut against Real Madrid on October 25 after serving his biting ban, and Enrique has moved to dampen rumours that the former Liverpool star will be unfit for the clash.

"It's difficult to evaluate if he's at 70, 80, 90 or 100% but what is sure is he feels much better in training," Enrique is quoted as saying by iAfrica.

"He's been in a certain dynamic for a while and the fact that he has been able to play for his country has allowed him to rediscover the daily life of a footballer.

"We see him training every day, he's a player like any other and what's clear is that he's not fat. He never has been, despite everything that's been said. He's been in shape for several months so everything is fine."

Suarez has been out of action for four months after admitting to biting Italy defender Girogio Chiellini at the World Cup.
