Gerard Pique reveals hip problem

Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique has revealed that he has been nursing a hip problem for at least 18 months.

Speaking after the Catalan outfit's 2-0 win over BATE Borisov in the Champions League on Tuesday, the Spaniard said that he is "fine physically", but is currently suffering with the problem.

"For more than a year-and-a-half I've had discomfort in my hip, but I'm fine physically," Sport quotes Pique as saying.

"We did very well defensively and in attack we created many chances. We kept a clean sheet and that gives us confidence for the next matches and the future."

Pique, 28, has faced criticism from a number of outlets this season for his political views in relation to a proposed Catalan independence.
