Barcelona 'concerned about Luis Suarez fitness'

Barcelona are reportedly concerned about Luis Suarez's troublesome knee injury ahead of a vital run of matches.

Suarez has struggled with a knee problem over the last few months, although he has only actually missed one La Liga fixture for the Spanish champions this term.

The Uruguay international scored his 16th league goal of the campaign against Sevilla on Saturday, but he is yet to register in the Champions League this term and has been far from his best in recent weeks.

Barca will face Real Madrid twice over the next week - once in the Copa del Rey and once in La Liga - before taking on Girona and Rayo Vallecano ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Lyon on March 13.

According to Football Espana, Barca 'are concerned' about the fitness of their main striker, who has played a lot of football this season due to the club's lack of experienced cover.

The 32-year-old has scored 169 times in 232 appearances for his Spanish club since a 2014 move from Liverpool.
