Barcelona team news: Injury, suspension list vs Valencia

Barcelona injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Barcelona got off to the perfect start under new manager Quique Setien on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Granada at the Camp Nou.

A second half goal from Lionel Messi settled the match and restored them to the top of the La Liga table, but it was more the style in which the victory was delivered that will excite fans.

On Saturday the Blaugrana travel to the Mestalla to face Valencia, with the battle between Barca and Real Madrid for the La Liga trophy hotting up.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the La Liga clash.

Luis Suarez

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: May 10 (vs. Real Valladolid)

Luis Suarez was ruled out for four months earlier this month after damaging his knee on Supercopa de Espana duty. The Uruguay international will hope to return to action before the end of the season.

Ousmane Dembele

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: February 13 (vs. Getafe)

Ousmane Dembele has been missing from the Barcelona squad since November but should be closing in on a return within the next month.

Arthur

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Valencia)

Arthur has been out since December but is closing in on a return and has been back in full training this week. The Brazilian could feature against Valencia on Saturday, but will be assessed closer to the time.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: January 20 (vs. Valencia)

Marc-Andre ter Stegen is a minor doubt for Saturday's game due to a groin injury he has been carrying. The German international started and kept a clean sheet against Granada but will be monitored ahead of the weekend.
