Barcelona injury, suspension list vs. Granada

Barcelona will be bidding to make it three straight wins in La Liga when they host Granada on Sunday night.

Since Xavi announced after the 5-3 loss to Villarreal on January 27 that he will be standing down as head coach of the Catalan giants at the end of the 2023-24 campaign, Barcelona have won their two league matches against Osasuna and Alaves.

The reigning champions are currently third in the La Liga table, eight points behind the leaders Real Madrid on the same number of matches (23).

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with Granada, who are currently 19th in Spain's top flight.


Alejandro Balde

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: Unknown

Balde is set for a lengthy period on the sidelines, having had an operation on the hamstring injury that he picked up against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey.


Sergi Roberto

Status: Out Type of injury: Achilles Possible return date: Unknown

Roberto recently joined the injury list at Barcelona, with the midfielder expected to be unavailable for another few weeks due to an Achilles problem.


Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Major doubt Type of injury: Back Possible return date: February 11 (vs. Granada)

Ter Stegen has made significant progress in his recovery from a back operation, and the goalkeeper is thought to have a slight chance of being included in the squad for this match.


Gavi

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi suffered an ACL injury while representing Spain over the November international break, and the midfielder is now set to be missing for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.


Marcos Alonso
