Manager Ernesto Valverde insists that Barcelona still have work to do in order to progress past Roma in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has insisted that "nothing is done" despite watching his side record a 4-1 win over Roma in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

The Catalan giants are regarded as the favourites to win the competition in May, but the Spanish side required two own goals on their way to a comfortable win on Wednesday night.

Valverde has suggested that Barcelona deserved their good fortune at Camp Nou, but says that his team still have work to do in order to progress through to the semi-finals.

After the game, the 54-year-old told reporters: "If you don't get close to the goal, you don't get goals. It doesn't matter if they're own goals, what are we supposed to do?

"I preferred 3-0 to 4-1, nothing is done. They are a good team, and they started very well."

The reverse fixture takes place at the Stadio Olimpico next Tuesday.
