Markus Henriksen's stoppage time strike gives AZ Eredivisie win over Cambuur

AZ strike late to gain Eredivisie win

AZ defeated Cambuur 2-1 in the Eredivisie thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Markus Henriksen.

AZ took an early lead as Nemanja Gudelj converted from the penalty spot, and they continued to dominate the early stages with Mattias Johansson, Muamer Tankovic and Thom Haye all missing chances.

In the second half, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored the equaliser for Cambuur in the 62nd minute.

The goal seemed to galvanise Cambuur as they missed chances to take the lead through Ogbeche, Mikhail Rosheuvel and Daniel de Ridder.

AZ had chances to score in the closing five minute, with Guus Hupperts missing twice from good positions.

It took until stoppage time for AZ to grab the points, with Henriksen scoring the crucial winner.
