Brazilian Rodrigo Caio undergoes Atletico Madrid medical

Rodrigo Caio has been put through a series of medical examinations ahead of his proposed move to Atletico Madrid.

The 21-year-old Brazilian was seen coming out of the Las Rozas medical centre in the Spanish capital this afternoon with his agent Deco - the former Chelsea and Barcelona playmaker.

When asked about the situation by the press corp that had gathered, Deco responded: "Let's see, at the moment he has had his medical."

Earlier this month, Atletico's La Liga rivals Valencia agreed a deal to sign the midfielder from Sao Paulo, but it would now appear that Madrid is his likely destination.

Caio has been capped by Brazil at Under-20 and Under-23 levels.
