Report: Bayern Munich in Madrid to discuss Diego Godin deal

A report claims that Bayern Munich have stepped up their interest in Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

Representatives from Bayern Munich have reportedly flown to Madrid to discuss a move for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

The Uruguay international is now seen as one of the best centre-backs in European football, with his form last season helping Atletico win La Liga and reach the final of the Champions League.

Atletico are understandably not in the market to sell the defender, but according to Die Roten, Bayern will test the waters with a significant offer for his services.

Bayern are on the lookout for a new defender in the final weeks of the transfer window after recently losing Javi Martinez to a long-term injury.
