Diego Simeone: 'I can now plan for long-term future'

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone believes that his new five-year deal at the Vicente Calderon will allow him to plan for the club's long-term future.

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has claimed that he can now plan for the long-term future of the club after signing a new contract until 2020.

Simeone's previous deal was due to run until 2017, but the Argentine believes that the additional three years will allow him to make long-term plans at the Vicente Calderon.

"The confidence of being to work in a long-term capacity. Both sides are committed to doing what's best for the future of Atletico," Simeone told reporters at his official press conference.

Simeone led Atletico to their first La Liga title since 1996 last season, in addition to reaching the final of the Champions League.
