Saul Niguez has insisted that he is happy to play in whatever position he is needed for Atletico Madrid this season.
The 20-year-old has been used in a number of positions in the early stages of his career, operating at centre-back, central midfield and in a wide forward role.
The Spaniard, who impressed during Atletico's 2-0 friendly win over Real Oviedo on Tuesday, believes that his 'versatility' will help the team in the new season.
"It was all very positive. We left a good image and the game was entertaining for the fans. It was important we kept a clean sheet," Marca quotes him as saying.
"I played central in the lower categories of the national team and I played there for Rayo Vallecano too. I'll play wherever the coach tells me to.
"We all want to play more but we have to work hard and continue to develop. I'm versatile and here, if you earn it, you play."
Saul made 30 appearances for Atletico last season.
