Team News: Diego Costa named on bench for Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has decided to leave Diego Costa on the bench for the visit of Zenit St Petersburg.

David Villa will provide the biggest attacking threat for the hosts, with Costa having to settle among the substitutes despite a good start to the season.

Toby Alderweireld recently joined the Spanish club from Ajax but the Belgian defender is also named as a substitute.

Zenit are boosted by the news that Hulk is fit to start the match following a groin strain, and he will join Danny and Aleksandr Kerzhakov in a three-man attack.
