How Atletico Madrid could line up against Borussia Dortmund

How Atletico Madrid could line up against Borussia Dortmund

Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone could select an unchanged side from the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final with Borussia Dortmund for the return match in Germany.

The Red and Whites, who have a 2-1 lead in the tie, will definitely be without the services of three players through injury, with Memphis Depay, Thomas Lemar and Marcos Paulo unavailable for selection.

Saul Niguez, meanwhile, was forced off in the latter stages of the first half against Girona in La Liga on Saturday, and the Spaniard has therefore emerged as a doubt.

Pablo Barrios will be back in the squad, having missed out against Girona through suspension, and there will be a number of changes to the side that started the last league match.

Jose Gimenez, Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Llorente, Axel Witsel, Samuel Lino and Alvaro Morata are all set to return to the XI for the clash in Germany.

Antoine Griezmann scored twice against Girona on Saturday, and the France international is a definite starter in the final third of the field.

Mario Hermoso made his return from injury last time out, but he is expected to be on the bench for this match, with Gimenez, Azpilicueta and Witsel featuring as the back three.

Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup: Oblak; Witsel, Gimenez, Azpilicueta; Molina, Llorente, Koke, De Paul, Lino; Griezmann, Morata
