Diego Simeone: 'No Champions League final opponent preference'

Simeone: 'No final opponent preference'

Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has insisted that it "doesn't matter" who his side faces in the final of the Champions League.

Los Rojiblancos booked their place in European football's showpiece encounter last night for the second time in the previous three years thanks to an away goals victory over Bayern Munich.

Now, they will take on either Real Madrid or Manchester City at San Siro on Saturday, May 28.

Rivals Real defeated Atleti 4-1 after extra time to clinch the trophy for a record-extending 10th time in 2014, but Simeone is not fazed by either opponent.

"It doesn't matter who we play in the final," the Argentine told reporters.

"I'm proud of what has happened to this club. We are beating the best teams in the world."

Simeone has been in charge at the Vicente Calderon since December 2011 and has guided the club to glory in La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Europa League.
