Ander Iturraspe pens Athletic Bilbao extension

Spain midfielder Ander Iturraspe has extended his contract with Athletic Bilbao until the summer of 2019.

The 26-year-old, whose previous deal was due to expire in 2017, has been with Bilbao since 1999 – emerging through the youth ranks into the first team.

The midfielder is also a full Spain international and was part of the provisional La Roja squad for last summer's World Cup.

Iturraspe's form over the last couple of seasons led to talk of a move, but such speculation has now been ended, with the deal confirmed on Bilbao's official website.

Iturraspe has already racked up more than 200 appearances for Bilbao.
