Jhon Cordoba strike downs Athletic Bilbao

Granada have maintained their unbeaten start to the La Liga season after claiming a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao this evening.

Aritz Aduriz came close to opening the scoring for the hosts, but saw his close-range header saved by Roberto Fernandez.

Jhon Cordoba gave the visitors the lead five minutes before half time when he stole the ball in the midfield and ran through to slot a low effort past the keeper.

After the break, Andoni Iraola attempted to bring the hosts level, but saw his powerful strike from the edge of the box saved by the keeper.

Bilbao almost eqaulised in the third minute of stoppage time, but Ander Iturraspe's header was tipped over by the keeper as the visitors held on to claim the three points.
